Boiling Notice – Important

Update | March 10th 3:20 pm

The boil water advisory has been lifted

You may now use your tap water WITHOUT RESTRICTION.

Thank you

Do not use tap water without first boiling it at a rolling boil for at least one minute, or use bottled water.

Until further notice, you must use tap water that has been boiled at a rolling boil for at least one minute, or bottled water, for the following:

  • Drinking and meal preparation;
  • Preparation of baby formula and baby food;
  • Washing and preparation of foods eaten raw (fruits, vegetables, etc.);
  • Preparation of foods that do not require prolonged cooking times (canned soups, desserts, etc.);
  • Making of ice cubes;
  • Brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth;
  • Watering pets.

Throw out ice cubes (don’t forget refrigerator reservoirs), drinks and foods that were prepared with unboiled water on or after March 7th, 2021.

You can use tap water directly for:

  • Preparing foods that require prolonged boiling times to cook;
  • Washing dishes in hot water and detergent, making sure to dry them well;
  • Running your dishwasher, on the hottest setting;
  • Washing your clothes, taking a bath or shower.  For young children, make sure that they don’t swallow water while bathing or give them a sponge bath.

If you have a water treatment system in your home, you must apply the above-mentioned measures unless the system is a water purifier designed to disinfect water.  Devices such as water softeners are generally ineffective at removing microorganisms.

Schools, businesses and institutions connected to the aqueduct

  • Notify your clients that the water is unsuitable for consumption.
  • Close all water fountains and post notices near other faucets where water is still available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused and thank you for your understanding.
