Diversify the types of grass

Traditional lawns typically consist of a single grass type (Kentucky bluegrass). This plant has a surface root and has significant watering and fertilizing needs.

Choose mixtures of less demanding species such as:
White clover
Hard fescue
Chewing’s fescue
Bird’s-foot trefoil

A diversified lawn (a mixture of several species) is more resistant to disease and natural disturbances (insects, drought, etc.)
